12 우리가 세상에서 특별히 너희에게 대하여 하나님의 거룩함과 진실함으로써 하되 육체의 지혜로 하지 아니하고 하나님의 은혜로 행함은 우리 양심의 증거하는 바니 이것이 우리의 자랑이라
Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God's grace.
13 오직 너희가 읽고 아는 것 외에 우리가 다른 것을 쓰지 아니하노니 너희가 끝까지 알기를 내가 바라는 것은
For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand. And I hope that,
14 너희가 부분적으로 우리를 아는 것 같이 우리 주 예수의 날에 너희가 우리의 자랑이 되고 우리가 너희의 자랑이 되는 것이라
as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus.
15 내가 이 확신을 가지고 너희로 두 번 은혜를 얻게 하기 위하여 먼저 너희에게 이르렀다가
Because I was confident of this, I planned to visit you first so that you might benefit twice.
16 너희를 지나 마게도냐에 갔다가 다시 마게도냐에서 너희에게 가서 너희가 보내줌으로 유대로 가기를 계획하였으니
I planned to visit you on my way to Macedonia and to come back to you from Macedonia, and then to have you send me on my way to Judea.
17 이렇게 계획할 때에 어찌 경홀히 하였으리요 혹 계획하기를 육체를 좇아 경영하여 '예, 예' 하고 '아니, 아니'라 하는 일이 내게 있었겠느냐
When I planned this, did I do it lightly? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say, "Yes, yes" and "No, no"?
18 하나님은 미쁘시니라 우리가 너희에게 한 말은 '예' 하고 '아니라' 함이 없노라
But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not "Yes" and "No."
19 우리 곧 나와 실루아노와 디모데로 말미암아 너희 가운데 전파된 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도는 '예' 하고 '아니라' 함이 되지 아니하였으니 저에게는 '예'만 되었느니라
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes."
20 하나님의 약속은 얼마든지 그리스도 안에서 '예'가 되니 그런즉 그로 말미암아 우리가 '아멘' 하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 되느니라
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

3 해 받으신 후에 또한 저희에게 확실한 많은 증거로 친히 사심을 나타내사 사십 일 동안 저희에게 보이시며 하나님 나라의 일을 말씀하시니라
After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
4 사도와 같이 모이사 저희에게 분부하여 가라사대 예루살렘을 떠나지 말고 내게 들은 바 아버지의 약속하신 것을 기다리라
On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
5 요한은 물로 세례를 베풀었으나 너희는 몇 날이 못되어 성령으로 세례를 받으리라 하셨느니라
For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
6 저희가 모였을 때에 예수께 묻자와 가로되 주께서 이스라엘 나라를 회복하심이 이 때니이까 하니
So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"
7 가라사대 때와 기한은 아버지께서 자기의 권한에 두셨으니 너희의 알 바 아니요
He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
8 오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
9 이 말씀을 마치시고 저희 보는 데서 올리워 가시니 구름이 저를 가리워 보이지 않게 하더라
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
10 올라가실 때에 제자들이 자세히 하늘을 쳐다보고 있는 데 흰 옷 입은 두 사람이 저희 곁에 서서
They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.
11 가로되 갈릴리 사람들아 어찌하여 서서 하늘을 쳐다보느냐 너희 가운데서 하늘로 올리우신 이 예수는 하늘로 가심을 본 그대로 오시리라 하였느니라
"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

19 이 날 곧 안식 후 첫날 저녁 때에 제자들이 유대인들을 두려워하여 모인 곳에 문들을 닫았더니 예수께서 오사 가운데 서서 가라사대 너희에게 평강이 있을지어다
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"
20 이 말씀을 하시고 손과 옆구리를 보이시니 제자들이 주를 보고 기뻐하더라
After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21 예수께서 또 가라사대 너희에게 평강이 있을지어다 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것 같이 나도 너희를 보내노라
Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
22 이 말씀을 하시고 저희를 향하사 숨을 내쉬며 가라사대 성령을 받으라
And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 너희가 뉘 죄든지 사하면 사하여질 것이요 뉘 죄든지 그대로 두면 그대로 있으리라 하시니라
If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."
24 열두 제자 중에 하나인 디두모라 하는 도마는 예수 오셨을 때에 함께 있지 아니한지라
Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.
25 다른 제자들이 그에게 이르되 우리가 주를 보았노라 하니 도마가 가로되 내가 그 손의 못자국을 보며 내 손가락을 그 못자국에 넣으며 내 손을 그 옆구리에 넣어 보지 않고는 믿지 아니하겠노라 하니라
So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
26 여드레를 지나서 제자들이 다시 집 안에 있을 때에 도마도 함께 있고 문들이 닫혔는데 예수께서 오사 가운데 서서 가라사대 너희에게 평강이 있을지어다 하시고
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"
27 도마에게 이르시되 네 손가락을 이리 내밀어 내 손을 보고 네 손을 내밀어 내 옆구리에 넣어보라 그리하고 믿음 없는 자가 되지 말고 믿는 자가 되라
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
28 도마가 대답하여 가로되 나의 주시며 나의 하나님이시니이다
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
29 예수께서 가라사대 너는 나를 본 고로 믿느냐 보지 못하고 믿는 자들은 복되도다 하시니라
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

1 유월절 전에 예수께서 자기가 세상을 떠나 아버지께로 돌아가실 때가 이른 줄 아시고 세상에 있는 자기 사람들을 사랑하시되 끝까지 사랑하시니라
It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.
2 마귀가 벌써 시몬의 아들 가룟 유다의 마음에 예수를 팔려는 생각을 넣었더니
The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus.
3 저녁 먹는 중 예수는 아버지께서 모든 것을 자기 손에 맡기신 것과 또 자기가 하나님께로부터 오셨다가 하나님께로 돌아가실 것을 아시고
Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;
4 저녁 잡수시던 자리에서 일어나 겉옷을 벗고 수건을 가져다가 허리에 두르시고
so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.
5 이에 대야에 물을 담아 제자들의 발을 씻기시고 그 두르신 수건으로 씻기기를 시작하여
After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 시몬 베드로에게 이르시니 가로되 주여 주께서 내 발을 씻기시나이까
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?"
7 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 나의 하는 것을 네가 이제는 알지 못하나 이 후에는 알리라
Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."
8 베드로가 가로되 내 발을 절대로 씻기지 못하시리이다 예수께서 대답하시되 내가 너를 씻기지 아니하면 네가 나와 상관이 없느니라
"No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."
9 시몬 베드로가 가로되 주여 내 발뿐 아니라 손과 머리도 씻겨 주옵소서
"Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"
10 예수께서 가라사대 이미 목욕한 자는 발밖에 씻을 필요가 없느니라 온 몸이 깨끗하니라 너희가 깨끗하나 다는 아니니라 하시니
Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you."

1그 때에 예수께서 성령에게 이끌리어 마귀에게 시험을 받으러 광야로 가사
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
2사십 일을 밤낮으로 금식하신 후에 주리신지라
After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
3시험하는 자가 예수께 나아가서 가로되 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 명하여 이 돌들이 떡덩이가 되게 하라
The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
4예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 기록되었으되 사람이 떡으로만 살 것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라 하였느니라 하시니
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
5이에 마귀가 예수를 거룩한 성으로 데려다가 성전 꼭대기에 세우고
Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
6가로되 네가 만일 하나님의 아들이어든 뛰어내리라 기록하였으되 저가 너를 위하여 그 사자들을 명하시리니 저희가 손으로 너를 받들어 발이 돌에 부딪히지 않게 하리로다 하였느니라
"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
7예수께서 이르시되 또 기록되었으되 주 너의 하나님을 시험치 말라 하였느니라 하신대
Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
8마귀가 또 그를 데리고 지극히 높은 산으로 가서 천하 만국과 그 영광을 보여
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
9가로되 만일 내게 엎드려 경배하면 이 모든 것을 네게 주리라
"All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
10이에 예수께서 말씀하시되 사단아 물러가라 기록되었으되 주 너의 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라
Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
11이에 마귀는 예수를 떠나고 천사들이 나아와서 수종드니라
Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

1 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 이제 내가 바로에게 하는 일을 네가 보리라 강한 손을 더하므로 바로가 그들을 보내리라 강한 손을 더하므로 바로가 그들을 그 땅에서 쫓아 내리라
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country."
2 하나님이 모세에게 말씀하여 가라사대 나는 여호와로라
God also said to Moses, "I am the LORD.
3 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 전능의 하나님으로 나타났으나 나의 이름을 여호와로는 그들에게 알리지 아니하였고
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself known to them.
4 가나안 땅 곧 그들의 우거하는 땅을 주기로 그들과 언약하였더니
I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they lived as aliens.
5 이제 애굽 사람이 종을 삼은 이스라엘 자손의 신음을 듣고 나의 언약을 기억하노라
Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.
6 그러므로 이스라엘 자손에게 말하기를 나는 여호와라 내가 애굽 사람의 무거운 짐 밑에서 너희를 빼어 내며 그 고역에서 너희를 건지며 편 팔과 큰 재앙으로 너희를 구속하여
"Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
7 너희로 내 백성을 삼고 나는 너희 하나님이 되리니 나는 애굽 사람의 무거운 짐 밑에서 너희를 빼어낸 너희 하나님 여호와인줄 너희가 알지라
I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
8 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 주기로 맹세한 땅으로 너희를 인도하고 그 땅을 너희에게 주어 기업을 삼게 하리라 나는 여호와로라 하셨다 하라
And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD.'"
9 모세가 이와 같이 이스라엘 자손에게 전하나 그들이 마음의 상함과 역사의 혹독함을 인하여 모세를 듣지 아니하였더라
Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and cruel bondage.

1 바사 왕 고레스 원년에 여호와께서 예레미야의 입으로 하신 말씀을 응하게 하시려고 바사 왕 고레스의 마음을 감동시키시매 저가 온 나라에 공포도 하고 조서도 내려 가로되
In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing:
2바사 왕 고레스는 말하노니 하늘의 신 여호와께서 세상 만국으로 내게 주셨고 나를 명하사 유다 예루살렘에 전을 건축하라 하셨나니
"This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: "'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.
3 이스라엘의 하나님은 참 신이시라 너희 중에 무릇 그 백성 된 자는 다 유다 예루살렘으로 올라가서 거기 있는 여호와의 전을 건축하라 너희 하나님이 함께 하시기를 원하노라
Anyone of his people among you--may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem.

And the people of any place where survivors may now be living are to provide him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.'"
5 이에 유다와 베냐민 족장들과 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 무릇 그 마음이 하나님께 감동을 받고 올라가서 예루살렘 여호와의 전을 건축코자 하는 자가 다 일어나니
Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites--everyone whose heart God had moved--prepared to go up and build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem.
6 그 사면 사람들이 은그릇과 황금과 기타 물건과 짐승과 보물로 돕고 그 외에도 예물을 즐거이 들렸더라
All their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuable gifts, in addition to all the freewill offerings.
7 고레스 왕이 또 여호와의 전 기명을 꺼내니 옛적에 느부갓네살이 예루살렘에서 옮겨다가 자기 신들의 당에 두었던 것이라
Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging to the temple of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god.

1그 때에 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 되매 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 저에게 나아와서 이르되 여호와의 말씀이 너는 집을 처치하라 네가 죽고 살지 못하리라 하셨나이다
In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
2히스기야가 낯을 벽으로 향하고 여호와께 기도하여 가로되
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,
3여호와여 구하오니 내가 진실과 전심으로 주 앞에 행하며 주의 보시기에 선하게 행한 것을 기억하옵소서 하고 심히 통곡하더라
"Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4이사야가 성읍 가운데까지도 이르기 전에 여호와의 말씀이 저에게 임하여 가라사대
Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him:
5너는 돌아가서 내 백성의 주권자 히스기야에게 이르기를 왕의 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 너를 낫게 하리니 네가 삼 일만에 여호와의 전에 올라가겠고
"Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD.
6내가 네 날을 십오 년을 더할 것이며 내가 너와 이 성을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 구원하고 내가 나를 위하고 또 내 종 다윗을 위하므로 이 성을 보호하리라 하셨다 하라 하셨더라
I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.'"
7이사야가 가로되 무화과 반죽을 가져오라 하매 무리가 가져다가 그 종처에 놓으니 나으니라
Then Isaiah said, "Prepare a poultice of figs." They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.
8히스기야가 이사야에게 이르되 여호와께서 나를 낫게 하시고 삼 일만에 여호와의 전에 올라가게 하실 무슨 징조가 있나이까
Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, "What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the LORD on the third day from now?"
9이사야가 가로되 여호와의 하신 말씀을 응하게 하실 일에 대하여 여호와께로서 왕에게 한 징조가 임하리이다 해 그림자가 십 도를 나아갈 것이니이까 혹 십 도를 물러갈 것이니이까
Isaiah answered, "This is the LORD'S sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?"
10히스기야가 대답하되 그림자가 십 도를 나아가기는 쉬우니 그리할 것이 아니라 십 도가 물러갈 것이니이다
"It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps," said Hezekiah. "Rather, have it go back ten steps."
11선지자 이사야가 여호와께 간구하매 아하스의 일영표 위에 나아갔던 해 그림자로 십 도를 물러가게 하셨더라
Then the prophet Isaiah called upon the LORD, and the LORD made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.

6 우리가 아직 연약할 때에 기약대로 그리스도께서 경건치 않은 자를 위하여 죽으셨도다
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
7 의인을 위하여 죽는 자가 쉽지 않고 선인을 위하여 용감히 죽는 자가 혹 있거니와
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
8 우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에게 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 그러면 이제 우리가 그 피를 인하여 의롭다 하심을 얻었은즉 더욱 그로 말미암아 진노하심에서 구원을 얻을 것이니
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
10 곧 우리가 원수 되었을 때에 그 아들의 죽으심으로 말미암아 하나님으로 더불어 화목되었은즉 화목된 자로서는 더욱 그의 살으심을 인하여 구원을 얻을 것이니라
For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

3 사무엘이 죽었으므로 온 이스라엘이 그를 애곡하며 그의 본성 라마에 장사하였고 사울은 신접한 자와 박수를 그 땅에서 쫓아 내었었더라
Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land.
4 블레셋 사람이 모여 수넴에 이르러 진 치매 사울이 온 이스라엘을 모아 길보아에 진 쳤더니
The Philistines assembled and came and set up camp at Shunem, while Saul gathered all the Israelites and set up camp at Gilboa.
5 사울이 블레셋 사람의 군대를 보고 두려워서 그 마음이 크게 떨린지라
When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart.
6 사울이 여호와께 묻자오되 여호와께서 꿈으로도, 우림으로도, 선지자로도 그에게 대답지 아니하시므로
He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets.
7 사울이 그 신하들에게 이르되 나를 위하여 신접한 여인을 찾으라 내가 그리로 가서 그에게 물으리라 그 신하들이 그에게 이르되 보소서 엔돌에 신접한 여인이 있나이다
Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her." "There is one in Endor," they said.
8 사울이 다른 옷을 입어 변장하고 두 사람과 함께 갈새 그들이 밤에 그 여인에게 이르러는 사울이 가로되 청하노니 나를 위하여 신접한 술법으로 내가 네게 말하는 사람을 불러올리라
So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name."
9 여인이 그에게 이르되 네가 사울의 행한 일 곧 그가 신접한 자와 박수를 이 땅에서 멸절시켰음을 아나니 네가 어찌하여 내 생명에 올무를 놓아 나를 죽게 하려느냐
But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?"
10 사울이 여호와로 그에게 맹세하여 가로되 여호와께서 사시거니와 네가 이 일로는 벌을 당치 아니하리라
Saul swore to her by the LORD, "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this."
11 여인이 가로되 내가 누구를 네게로 불러 올리랴 사울이 가로되 사무엘을 불러 올리라
Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" "Bring up Samuel," he said.

Now the men of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, "You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh Barnea about you and me.
7 내 나이 사십 세에 여호와의 종 모세가 가데스 바네아에서 나를 보내어 이 땅을 정탐케 하므로 내 마음에 성실한 대로 그에게 보고하였고
I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions,
8 나와 함께 올라갔던 내 형제들은 백성의 간담을 녹게 하였으나 나는 나의 하나님 여호와를 온전히 좇았으므로
but my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear. I, however, followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly.
9 그 날에 모세가 맹세하여 가로되 네가 나의 하나님 여호와를 온전히 좇았은즉 네 발로 밟는 땅은 영영히 너와 네 자손의 기업이 되리라 하였나이다
So on that day Moses swore to me, 'The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly.'
10 이제 보소서 여호와께서 이 말씀을 모세에게 이르신 때로부터 이스라엘이 광야에 행한 이 사십오 년 동안을 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 나를 생존케 하셨나이다 오늘날 내가 팔십오 세로되
"Now then, just as the LORD promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the desert. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!
11 모세가 나를 보내던 날과 같이 오늘날 오히려 강건하니 나의 힘이 그때나 이제나 일반이라 싸움에나 출입에 감당할 수 있사온즉
I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.
12 그 날에 여호와께서 말씀하신 이 산지를 내게 주소서 당신도 그 날에 들으셨거니와 그 곳에는 아낙 사람이 있고 그 성읍들은 크고 견고할지라도 여호와께서 혹시 나와 함께 하시면 내가 필경 여호와의 말씀하신 대로 그들을 쫓아내리이다
Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said."

Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
35 모세가 회막에 들어갈 수 없었으니 이는 구름이 회막 위에 덮이고 여호와의 영광이 성막에 충만함이었으며
Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
36 구름이 성막 위에서 떠오를 때에는 이스라엘 자손이 그 모든 행하는 길에 앞으로 발행하였고
In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out;
37 구름이 떠오르지 않을 때에는 떠오르는 날까지 발행하지 아니하였으며
but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out--until the day it lifted.
38 낮에는 여호와의 구름이 성막 위에 있고 밤에는 불이 그 구름 가운데 있음을 이스라엘의 온 족속이 그 모든 행하는 길에서 친히 보았더라
So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels.
