He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. 39 다윗이 칼을 군복 위에 차고는 익숙치 못하므로 시험적으로 걸어 보다가 사울에게 고하되 익숙치 못하니 이것을 입고 가지 못하겠나이다 하고 곧 벗고 David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. "I cannot go in these," he said to Saul, "because I am not used to them." So he took them off. 40 손에 막대기를 가지고 시내에서 매끄러운 돌 다섯을 골라서 자기 목자의 제구 곧 주머니에 넣고 손에 물매를 가지고 블레셋 사람에게로 나아가니라 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd's bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. 41 블레셋 사람이 점점 행하여 다윗에게로 나아오는데 방패 든 자가 앞섰더라 Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. 42 그 블레셋 사람이 둘러보다가 다윗을 보고 업신여기니 이는 그가 젊고 붉고 용모가 아름다움이라 He looked David over and saw that he was only a boy, ruddy and handsome, and he despised him. 43 블레셋 사람이 다윗에게 이르되 네가 나를 개로 여기고 막대기를 가지고 내게 나아왔느냐 하고 그 신들의 이름으로 다윗을 저주하고 He said to David, "Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?" And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 또 이르되 내게로 오라 내가 네 고기를 공중의 새들과 들짐승들에게 주리라 "Come here," he said, "and I'll give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!" 45 다윗이 블레셋 사람에게 이르되 너는 칼과 창과 단창으로 내게 오거니와 나는 만군의 여호와의 이름 곧 네가 모욕하는 이스라엘 군대의 하나님의 이름으로 네게 가노라 David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 오늘 여호와께서 너를 내 손에 붙이시리니 내가 너를 쳐서 네 머리를 베고 블레셋 군대의 시체로 오늘날 공중의 새와 땅의 들짐승에게 주어 온 땅으로 이스라엘에 하나님이 계신줄 알게 하겠고 This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 또 여호와의 구원하심이 칼과 창에 있지 아니함을 이 무리로 알게 하리라 전쟁은 여호와께 속한 것인즉 그가 너희를 우리 손에 붙이시리라 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give all of you into our hands." 48 블레셋 사람이 일어나 다윗에게로 마주 가까이 올 때에 다윗이 블레셋 사람에게로 마주 그 항오를 향하여 빨리 달리며 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 손을 주머니에 넣어 돌을 취하여 물매로 던져 블레셋 사람의 이마를 치매 돌이 그 이마에 박히니 땅에 엎드러지니라 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. 50 다윗이 이같이 물매와 돌로 블레셋 사람을 이기고 그를 쳐 죽였으나 자기 손에는 칼이 없었더라 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. 51 다윗이 달려가서 블레셋 사람을 밟고 그의 칼을 그 집에서 빼어 내어 그 칼로 그를 죽이고 그 머리를 베니 블레셋 사람들이 자기 용사의 죽음을 보고 도망하는지라 David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine's sword and drew it from the scabbard. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. About the fourth watch of the night he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, 49 제자들이 그의 바다 위로 걸어 오심을 보고 유령인가 하여 소리지르니 but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, 50 저희가 다 예수를 보고 놀람이라 이에 예수께서 곧 더불어 말씀하여 가라사대 안심하라 내니 두려워 말라 하시고 because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." 51 배에 올라 저희에게 가시니 바람이 그치는지라 제자들이 마음에 심히 놀라니 Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, 52 이는 저희가 그 떡 떼시던 일을 깨닫지 못하고 도리어 그 마음이 둔하여졌음이러라 for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened. # 2024 주제 - 우리는 '교회'입니다. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29 이에 저희가 소리질러 가로되 하나님의 아들이여 우리와 당신과 무슨 상관이 있나이까 때가 이르기 전에 우리를 괴롭게 하려고 여기 오셨나이까 하더니 "What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?" 30 마침 멀리서 많은 돼지 떼가 먹고 있는지라 Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31 귀신들이 예수께 간구하여 가로되 만일 우리를 쫓아 내실진대 돼지 떼에 들여 보내소서 한대 The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs." 32 저희더러 가라 하시니 귀신들이 나와서 돼지에게로 들어가는지라 온 떼가 비탈로 내리달아 바다에 들어가서 물에서 몰사하거늘 He said to them, "Go!" So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water. 33 치던 자들이 달아나 시내에 들어가 이 모든 일과 귀신들린 자의 일을 고하니 Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. 34 온 시내가 예수를 만나려고 나가서 보고 그 지방에서 떠나시기를 간구하더라 Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus.
