34 그 후에 구름이 회막에 덮이고 여호와의 영광이 성막에 충만하매 Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 모세가 회막에 들어갈 수 없었으니 이는 구름이 회막 위에 덮이고 여호와의 영광이 성막에 충만함이었으며 Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 36 구름이 성막 위에서 떠오를 때에는 이스라엘 자손이 그 모든 행하는 길에 앞으로 발행하였고 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; 37 구름이 떠오르지 않을 때에는 떠오르는 날까지 발행하지 아니하였으며 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out--until the day it lifted. 38 낮에는 여호와의 구름이 성막 위에 있고 밤에는 불이 그 구름 가운데 있음을 이스라엘의 온 족속이 그 모든 행하는 길에서 친히 보았더라 So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels.

28 수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그러면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라 하시니라 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

1 이러므로 우리에게 구름 같이 둘러싼 허다한 증인들이 있으니 모든 무거운 것과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고 인내로써 우리 앞에 당한 경주를 경주하며 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 믿음의 주요 또 온전케 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자 저는 그 앞에 있는 즐거움을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

24 나의 달려갈 길과 주 예수께 받은 사명 곧 하나님의 은혜의 복음 증거하는 일을 마치려 함에는 나의 생명을 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

18 갈릴리 해변에 다니시다가 두 형제 곧 베드로라 하는 시몬과 그 형제 안드레가 바다에 그물 던지는 것을 보시니 저희는 어부라 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 (말씀하시되) 나를 따라 오너라 내가 너희로 사람을 낚는 어부가 되게 하리라 하시니 "Come, follow me," (Jesus said,) "and I will make you fishers of men." 20 저희가 곧 그물을 버려 두고 예수를 좇으니라 At once they left their nets and followed him.

12내가 이미 얻었다 함도 아니요 온전히 이루었다 함도 아니라 오직 내가 그리스도 예수께 잡힌 바 된 그것을 잡으려고 좇아가노라 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13형제들아 나는 아직 내가 잡은 줄로 여기지 아니하고 오직 한 일 즉 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고 앞에 있는 것을 잡으려고 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14푯대를 향하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님이 위에서 부르신 부름의 상을 위하여 좇아가노라 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

9 참 빛 곧 세상에 와서 각 사람에게 비취는 빛이 있었나니 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. 10 그가 세상에 계셨으며 세상은 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으되 세상이 그를 알지 못하였고 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 자기 땅에 오매 자기 백성이 영접지 아니하였으나 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- 13 이는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로서 난 자들이니라 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. 14 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

1 그 때에 세례 요한이 이르러 유대 광야에서 전파하여 가로되 In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea 2 회개하라 천국이 가까웠느니라 하였으니 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." 3 저는 선지자 이사야로 말씀하신 자라 일렀으되 광야에 외치는 자의 소리가 있어 가로되 너희는 주의 길을 예비하라 그의 첩경을 평탄케 하라 하였느니라 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'"

25 사람을 두려워하면 올무에 걸리게 되거니와 여호와를 의지하는 자는 안전하리라 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. 26 주권자에게 은혜를 구하는 자가 많으나 사람의 일의 작정은 여호와께로 말미암느니라 Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that man gets justice. 27 불의한 자는 의인에게 미움을 받고 정직한 자는 악인에게 미움을 받느니라 The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright.

1 [다윗의 시, 영장으로 한 노래] 주여, 언제까지 나를 잊으시렵니까? 영영 나를 잊으시렵니까? 어느 때까지 나를 외면하시고, 주의 얼굴을 내게서 숨기시렵니까? [For the director of music. A psalm of David] How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 2 쓰라린 이 마음, 언제까지 견뎌야 합니까? 날이면 날마다 당하는 이 괴로움, 언제까지 참아야 합니까? 원수들이 우쭐거리는 꼬락서니, 언제까지 지켜봐야 합니까? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? 3 오 나의 주 하나님이시여, 굽어 살피시어 내게 대답해 주소서. 내가 죽음의 잠에 빠져들지 않도록 나로 내 눈을 번쩍 뜨게 해 주소서. Look on me and answer, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death; 4 내 원수들로 하여금 “우리가 그를 눌러 버렸다!” 라고 떠벌리지 못하게 하소서. 나의 넘어진 모습을 보고, 저들이 고소해하며 기뻐하지 않게 하소서. my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall. 5 주여, 그래도 나는 주의 변함없는 사랑을 굳게 믿사오니, 주께서는 반드시 나를 건져주실 것입니다. 그때에 나의 마음은 기쁨에 겨워 주를 소리 높여 찬양할 것입니다. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. 6 주께서 내게 풍성한 은총을 베풀어주심으로 인해, 주께 찬양을 바칠 것입니다. I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.

1 [감사의 시] 온 땅이여 여호와께 즐거이 부를지어다 A salm. For giving thanks. Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 2 기쁨으로 여호와를 섬기며 노래하면서 그 앞에 나아갈지어다 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 여호와가 우리 하나님이신 줄 너희는 알지어다 그는 우리를 지으신 자시요 우리는 그의 것이니 그의 백성이요 그의 기르시는 양이로다 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 감사함으로 그 문에 들어가며 찬송함으로 그 궁정에 들어가서 그에게 감사하며 그 이름을 송축할지어다 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 대저 여호와는 선하시니 그 인자하심이 영원하고 그 성실하심이 대대로 미치리로다 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

15 그리스도 안에서 일만 스승이 있으되 아비는 많지 아니하니 그리스도 예수 안에서 복음으로써 내가 너희를 낳았음이라 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. 16 그러므로 내가 너희에게 권하노니 너희는 나를 본받는 자 되라 Therefore I urge you to imitate me. 1 내 형제들아 너희는 선생 된 우리가 더 큰 심판을 받을 줄을 알고 선생이 되지 말라 Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

18 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 천지가 없어지기 전에는 율법의 일점 일획이라도 반드시 없어지지 아니하고 다 이루리라 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 그러므로 누구든지 이 계명 중에 지극히 작은 것 하나라도 버리고 또 그같이 사람을 가르치는 자는 천국에서 지극히 작다 일컬음을 받을 것이요 누구든지 이를 행하며 가르치는 자는 천국에서 크다 일컬음을 받으리라 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 내가 너희에게 이르노니 너희 의가 서기관과 바리새인보다 더 낫지 못하면 결단코 천국에 들어가지 못하리라 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

31 시몬아, 시몬아, 보라 사단이 밀 까부르듯 하려고 너희를 청구하였으나 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. 32 그러나 내가 너를 위하여 네 믿음이 떨어지지 않기를 기도하였노니 너는 돌이킨 후에 네 형제를 굳게 하라 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers." 33 저가 말하되 주여 내가 주와 함께 옥에도, 죽는 데도 가기를 준비하였나이다 But he replied, "Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death." 34 가라사대 베드로야 내가 네게 말하노니 오늘 닭 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 모른다고 부인하리라 하시니라 Jesus answered, "I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me."
